European Progress Test in ORL-HNS 2026
Know where you stand. Track how you grow. Shape your future.
16–22 November 2026
How much do you really know in ORL-HNS?
And, perhaps even more importantly: how much are you learning from year to year?
The European Progress Test in ORL-HNS is back this November—and we invite all residents and young colleagues across Europe to take part.
Whether you are in your first year of training or approaching completion of your residency, the Progress Test gives you a unique opportunity to assess your current knowledge, identify areas for improvement and, by participating again in future years, build your own personal learning curve.
As well as anyone interested are welcome to participate - to see their current stand of knowledge in practice.
This is not an exam you need to prepare for.
In fact, no special preparation is required—or even desired.
The Progress Test is designed to measure your actual level of knowledge at your current stage of training, rather than your ability to prepare for an examination. In the early years of residency, achieving only 20–30% correct answers can be entirely normal. What matters is what happens over time: as you return year after year, you can see your knowledge grow and your gaps progressively close.
What will you gain?
With your individual results, you will receive feedback on:
- Your current level of knowledge
- Your progress and increase in knowledge
- The areas where knowledge gaps still exist
- How your performance compares with peers across Europe
The test is designed to provide formative feedback rather than a pass/fail judgment, helping you turn your results into practical guidance for your continuing learning and professional development.
And importantly, your individual test result is used exclusively for your personal feedback.
A European initiative for European trainees
The European Progress Test is a joint educational initiative of the Confederation of European ORL-HNS (CEORL-HNS) and the European Board Examination in ORL-HNS (EBEORL-HNS), with support from the UEMS-ORL Section. It was conceived as an educational tool to support trainees and contribute to the continuing improvement and harmonisation of ORL-HNS training across Europe.
As participation grows, the collective experience and data generated by the Progress Test can also provide valuable insights for training institutions and National Societies, helping them understand educational needs and further strengthen ORL-HNS training.
DON'T STUDY FOR IT.
TAKE IT. KNOW YOUR LEVEL. FOLLOW YOUR PROGRESS.
