Who is the Confederation

The Confederation of the European Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, CEORL-HNS was established in 2009 with the main objective of uniting the forces of

EUFOS - representing all 46 European national ENT societies

EAORL-HNS - comprising of 15 European subspecialty societies

UEMS ORL Section and Board - the specialist section of the UEMS

in an effort to create one voice for ORL-HNS in Europe and beyond.

Following the adoption of a new constitution allowing for direct membership of all European subspecialty societies and national ENT societies in CEORL-HNS, the process of creating a single body representing ENT in Europe was finalised at the General Assembly of CEORL-HNS on June 8, 2015 in Prague.

Our Mission

Why do young women and men decide to become doctors?

For many, it’s a calling. A strong desire to help those in need and to change lives. They feel richly rewarded by the trust to give advice, and the gratitude for helping someone through a difficult illness – all well worth committing a decade or more of their lives to training.

However, with today’s speedy advances in all medical fields, least of all our specialty, lifelong learning is more than a byword.

It is for the purpose of facilitating such continuing medical education and professional development as well as of maintaining and improving the welfare of ORL-HNS specialists in Europe that the Confederation was founded.

The Confederation also endeavours to advance Science and Research in Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (ORL-HNS) and allied disciplines, and to unify the advancement of ORL-HNS in Europe.

One of the Confederation’s major objectives is to biennially organise scientific events specifically targeting trainees, specialists and Fellows.

Together with its member organisations and allied societies, it will work towards one aim – to put Europe firmly on the ORL-HNS map, to create one voice for ORL-HNS in Europe and beyond.
