Look forward to entertaining and enlightening insights into our congress core theme “Innovation”. Professor Andreas Wagner - a top-class, internationally renowned and multi-award-winning scientist - will deliver the opening lecture. Take a look at his fascinating books such as "Arrival of the Fittest" or the follow-up "Sleeping Beauties". Prof Wagner, an evolutionary biologist, has dedicated his scientific life to the question of how innovations arise in nature. He has filled a gap in Darwin’s evolutionary biology theories: “Natural selection can preserve innovations, but it cannot create them. Nature’s many innovations—some uncannily perfect—call for natural principles that accelerate life’s ability to innovate.”
Professor Philippe Monnier, world-renowned icon of paediatric airway surgery, will give a keynote lecture on the history and up-to-the-minute developments of reconstructive techniques for pediatric airway stenosis
A Europe v USA ‘clash of the Titans’ promises to be both entertaining and highly informative.
With Michael Rutter (USA) for the motion and Richard Hewitt (UK) against, two of the most distinguished airway surgeons on their respective continents will lead a heated debate on the provocative motion that ‘there have been no real innovations in airway surgery in recent years’!
